On-board equipment (OBE) that uses satellite-based positioning technology to collect data required for charging for the use of roads operates in a so-called autonomous way in relation to the roadside infrastructure. The on-board equipment records the distance driven in an area subject to tolls. This standard defines an attribute for augmented localization communication data (LACData) transmitted from a roadside facility to the OBE as an acknowledged writing service. This service is implemented in DSRC Layer 7 (according to ISO 15628 and EN 12834).
