DIN EN ISO 12402-7 specifies the safety requirements and test methods for materials and components for personal flotation devices. Amendment A1 to DIN EN ISO 12402-7:2007-03 contains changed temperature requirements within the framework of a temperature cycling test, the thermal stability of the flotation material and the test method for the compressibility of inherently buoyant material. The exposure of IRM 902 oil in accordance with ASTM D 471-98 has been completely deleted in Tables 2, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20. Furthermore, editorial amendments have been made in order to harmonize the text of all 10 parts of DIN EN ISO 12402. The EN ISO 12402 standard series has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 162 "Protective clothing including hand and arm protection and lifejackets" (secretariat: DIN), in collaboration with Technical Committee ISO/TC 188 "Small craft". The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 112-04-04 AA "Wasserrettungs- und Sicherheitsmittel" ("Lifesaving in water and safety equipment") at DIN.
