As a part of the DIN EN ISO 11299 standard series, this standard, in conjunction with DIN EN ISO 11299-1, specifies requirements and test methods for close-fit lining systems intended to be used for the renovation of gas supply networks. It is applicable to polyethylene (PE) pipes for both independent and interactive pressure pipe liners as well as associated fittings and joints for the construction of the lining system. The standard series is directed at manufacturers, construction workers and test institutes of plastics piping systems used for renovation of underground gas supply networks. In particular, the standard includes quality and product safety aspects. This standard is a revision of DIN EN 14408-3 from 2004. The International Standard has been prepared by Working Group ISO/TC 138/WG 12 "Rehabilitation of pipeline systems" of Technical Committee ISO/TC 138 "Plastics pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids" (secretariat: JISC, Japan) and adopted as EN ISO 11299-3:2012 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 "Plastics piping systems and ducting systems" (secretariat: NEN, Netherlands). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 054-05-08 AA "Kunststoff-Rohrleitungssysteme für die Gasversorgung" ("Plastics piping systems for the supply of gaseous fuels") at the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK) at DIN.
