This part of the ISO 11296 standard series for plastics piping systems used for renovation of underground gravity-operated drainage and sewerage systems specifies requirements and test methods for pipes manufactured on site by introducing and connecting a pre-manufactured profiled plastics strip, with or without encapsulated steel reinforcement, by means of a winding machine intended for this purpose into the existing pipe by continuous spiral winding. During this process the winding machine is either in front of the open end of an existing pipeline, (for instance in a manhole) or it passes through the pipeline from one manhole to the next. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 155 "Plastics piping systems and ducting systems", the secretariat of which is held by NEN (Netherlands). Working Committee NA 119-05-37 AA "Renovierung, Reparatur und Erneuerung von Abwasserkanälen und -leitungen" ("Renovation, repair and replacement of drains and sewers") of NAW participated in the work on the national level.
