The standard describes requirements and test methods for the characteristics of denture adhesives. It specifies requirements and test methods for external appearance, exposure to chemicals, the associated sampling, the information required in the test report and the information for the marking, labelling and for the packaging, which is also specified therewith.
The International Standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 106/SC 7/WG 9 "Denture adhesives" (secretariat: JIS, Japan), together with CEN/TC 55 "Dentistry" (secretariat: DIN). At DIN, the responsible Working Committee is NA 014-00-19 AA "Mundpflegeprodukte" ("Oral hygiene products") of NADENT.
