DIN EN ISO 10581:2014-02

This standard specifies the characteristics of homogeneous floor coverings, based on poly(vinyl chloride), supplied in either tile or roll form. Products may contain a transparent, non-PVC factory finish. To encourage the consumer to make an informed choice, this standard includes a classification system (see ISO 10874) based on intensity of use, which shows where these floor coverings can give satisfactory service. This standard also specifies requirements for marking. This standard differs from DIN EN 649:2011-05 as follows: a) the title of the standard has been modified; b) Clause 2 "Normative references" has been updated; c) Clause 3 "Terms and definitions" has been revised; d) Clause 4 "Requirements" has been revised and parts of it have been transferred to Clause 5 "Classification"; e) Annex B "Additional methods of test" has been deleted; f) standard has been editorially revised. The text of ISO 10581:2011 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 219 "Floor coverings" of the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted as EN ISO 10581:2013 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 134 "Resilient, textile and laminate floor coverings", the secretariat of which is held by NBN. The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 054-04-05 AA "Bodenbeläge" ("Floor coverings") of the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK).The responsible national standardization committee is Working Committee NA 054-04-05 AA "Bodenbeläge" ("Floor coverings") at the Standards Committee Plastics (FNK) at DIN.
