This document applies for the most common types of valves for gas cylinders and cylinder bundles used to convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases in accordance with the Dangerous Goods Regulations. For example, ball valves, non-return valves and quick-release valves, valves for portable fire extinguishers, for cryogenic equipment and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for which own standards apply are excluded. The standard also applies for valves with integrated pressure regulator if the function of closure (and hence the safety during transport) is concerned. Valves in accordance with this standard are applied in large quantities during transport of dangerous goods. This document is the first amendment of DIN EN ISO 10297, which was published in 2014. The standard differs from DIN EN ISO 10297:2014-10 as follows: a) addition of pressure drums and tubes in the scope of application; b) inclusion of a permissible leakage rate after the impact test; c) adjustments to the hydraulic burst pressure test, leak test, service life test and impact test. The responsible committee at DIN for this standard is NA 016-00-03 AA "Druckgasflaschen und Ausrüstung; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 23 und ISO/TC 58" ("Transportable gas cylinders and equipment; National mirror committee to CEN/TC 23 and ISO/TC 58").
