The standard DIN EN 9104-003 contains the minimum requirements of the body of knowledge for auditors of the aerospace quality management systems who will participate in AQMS certification/registration activities including auditor authentication process, and for training organizations. It is applicable to auditors seeking formal approval to conduct audits of the AQMS systems under the IAQG and those who manage the competency element of an AQMS audit program, and to training organizations. The IAQG, the International Aerospace Quality Group, has been established by companies in the Americas, Asia/Pacific and Europe, to implement initiatives that make significant improvements in quality and reductions in cost throughout the value stream. This standard has been prepared by the IAQG. This standard EN 9104-003 has been published by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Quality, for the IAQG sector Europe. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-05-01 AA "Grundlagen der Managementverfahren" ("Basic principles of management processes") of the Aerospace Standards Committee. According to Resolution 57/9 of Technical Committee of the advisory board of the Aerospace Standards Committee (NL) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization, the European space industry standardization results shall be adopted into the German body of standards in both languages, German and English. Therefore, the English version is added to this German version of the EN standard.
