The European standard is a new edition. In addition to purity criteria and the corresponding analytical methods, it specifies requirements for the labeling, transport and storage of the respective products as well as specific safety rules. It also contains information on physical and chemical properties and general information on the manufacture and use of the products. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 164/WG 9 "Drinking water treatment" (secretariat: AFNOR, France) with the active German participation of Working Committee NA 119-07-13 AA "Aufbereitungsstoffe und -anlagen" ("Chemicals and plants for water treatment" at DIN Standards Committee Water Practice (NAW).
