Overview

Industrial wireless communication devices such as pressure transmitters or positioners mainly use energy sources without copper cables. These devices use power modules as power sources, which may include batteries. This document specifies general requirements for power modules for radio communication devices. It describes the usability of the power modules over their life cycle, including replacement in potentially explosive atmospheres. The responsible committee is DKE/K 956 "Feldbus" ("Fieldbus") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
