This standard applies to transportable mitre saws intended to be used with a toothed saw blade for cutting wood and analogous materials, plastics and nonferrous metals except magnesium, which hereinafter might simply be referred to as saw or tool. This standard does not apply to mitre saws intended to cut other metals, such as magnesium, steel and iron. This standard does not apply to mitre saws with an automatic feeding device. This standard differs from DIN EN 61029-2-9 (VDE 0740-509):2014-07 as follows: a) adaptation of the previous content of the standard to the new basic standard DIN EN 62841-1 (VDE 0740-1); b) the standard has been editorially revised. The responsible committee is DKE/K 514 "Elektrowerkzeuge" ("Electric tools") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
