This International Standard deals with the safety of electric motor or magnetically operated: - hand-held tools (IEC 62841-2); - transportable tools (IEC 62841-3); - lawn and garden machinery (IEC 62841-4). The above groups are hereinafter referred to as "power tools" or "machinery". This standard applies to the hazards arising from power tools to which all persons are exposed during the intended use and reasonably foreseeable misuse of power tools. This Part 2-8 applies to hand-held sheet metal shears and nibblers. The standard differs from DIN EN 60745-2-8 (VDE 0740-2-8):2010-02 as follows: a) adaptation to IEC 62841-1. The responsible committee is DKE/K 514 "Elektrowerkzeuge" ("Electric tools") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60745-2-8:2010-02; VDE 0740-2-8:2010-02 .
