Overview

This standard describes principles and procedures for the development, design and management of alarm systems. This concerns the design of such systems as well as the handling of them during operation. A management system for alarm systems is described. The standard applies in the process engineering industry. Its content was influenced by the American standard ANSI/ISA-18.2-2009. The responsible committee is DKE/K 931 "Systemaspekte" ("System aspects") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
