Overview

DIN EN 62676-3 (VDE 0830-71-3) defines physical electrical interface and software specifications for analogue and digital video interfaces in video surveillance systems (VSS), so-called closed circuit television (CCTV). With analogue video interfaces, an analogue video signal such as a signal mixture (BAS signal) is still the most frequently used interface in video surveillance equipment. Although the television broadcasting industry has adopted mixed signal standards (for example, NTSC, PAL), these have not been consistently applied to video surveillance systems and it is therefore important to standardize the interfaces to ensure interoperability between video surveillance systems. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 713.1 "Gefahrenmelde- und Überwachungsanlagen" ("Alarm and surveillance systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
