Overview

DIN EN 62591 specifies the communication according to WirelessHART. Reference is made to application layer specifications in the DIN EN 61158 (IEC 61158 international field bus standard series). It specifies in detail: - physical layer service and protocol - data-link layer service and protocol - application layer service and protocol - network management, - IT security - communication profile, special procedures due to the nature of the wireless medium in the physical layer - gateway to wireless networks. The Committee responsible for this standard is national Working Committee K 956 "Feldbus" ("Fieldbus") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE (www.dke.de).
