Overview

This document defines the treatment of historical time series and historical events in OPC UA, including the presentation of historical data and events in the address space. A server that supports access to historical automation data provides clients with transparent access to the sources of various historical data or events. These can be stored in their own data collection, in a database or in a short-term memory. Servers that support access to historical automation data make the historical data and events available to all or a subset of the available variables, objects, properties, or views within the server's address space. The responsible committee is DKE/K 931 "Systemaspekte" ("System aspects") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
