Overview

This International Standard provides suppliers and users with standardized values and their tolerances, which can be referred to in business. As a result, individual specifications become superfluous in everyday supply relationships. Moreover, the holding of the cores can be optimized and, consequently, further processing or distribution of the products can be accelerated. The inductance factor and its tolerance were previously specified by users. When manufacturers wished to have an inventory for short delivery, they had to hold the products before gapping. Due to electronic commerce and the increased demand for rapid delivery of products, it is advisable to provide customers and suppliers with standardized inductance factors and tolerances. The responsible committee is DKE/K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic components and their parts") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
