This standard contains specifications for the dimensions of a ferrite with the preferred range of EC cores as an objective to enable their mechanical interchangeability as well as the effective core parameters used for calculations with them. EC cores are widely used in power transformers. The significant changes compared to the previous edition are the inclusion of the core sizes EC 90 and EC 120.
