Overview

Part 6-200 of the IEC 62282 series describes test methods for determining the performance of micro fuel cell power systems used, for example, in notebook computers and PDAs, cell phones, cordless household appliances, television cameras or automatic robots. The test methods focus on power characteristics, fuel consumption and mechanical durability for micro fuel cell power systems. The application is limited to systems with an output voltage up to and including 60 V d.c. and a power generation up to and including 240 VA. The application is limited to systems with an output voltage of up to DC 60 V and a power output of up to 240 VA. The typical system structure with regard to functional units and their interconnections is also shown. Safety or interchangeability of micro fuel cell energy systems are dealt with in other parts of the standards series. The responsible committee is DKE/K 384 "Brennstoffzellen" ("Fuel cells") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
