Overview

This part of the standard IEC 62127 specifies the relevant properties of hydrophones. This standard applies for: - hydrophones employing piezoelectric sensor elements designed to measure pulsed wave and continuous wave ultrasonic fields; - hydrophones used for measurements made in water; - hydrophones with or without a hydrophone pre-amplifier. In this consolidated version, IEC Amendment of May 2013 has been incorporated which mainly carries out adjustments in Clause 5. The responsible committee is DKE/GUK 821.3 "Medizinische Ultraschallgeräte" ("Ultrasonics") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
