DIN EN 62077:2010-12

This International Standard applies to circulators used in the field of fibre optics bearing all of the following features: - they are non-reciprocal optical devices, in which each port is either an optical fibre or fibre optic connector; - they are passive devices in accordance with the categorization and definition provided in IEC 62538; - they have three or more ports for directionally transmitting optical power. The standard addresses the manufacturers and customers of these products. It specifies requirements for classification according to various criteria and provides suggestions for marking and packaging. The Annex describes different types of circulators. The standard refers to the 61300 (Basic test and measurement procedures) standard series. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive optical components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
