Overview

The message type defined in this document IEC 61968-8 is based on a logical division of DMS business functions and components called IEC 61968-1 Interface Reference Model (IRM). As described in IEC 61968-1, the content of message types is based on a rigid information model to ensure consistency of field names and data types. Each message type is defined as a set of fields copied from the information model classes. The message types defined in this standard are intended to satisfy the majority of typical applications. In some special project implementations it may be desirable to modify the set of fields, as described in Part 1. The responsible committee is DKE/K 952 "Netzleittechnik" ("Power system management") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
