Overview

This part of the International standard series IEC 61881 applies to d.c. aluminium electrolytic capacitors (cell, module and bank) for power electronics intended to be used on rolling stock. The standard specifies quality requirements and tests for these capacitors under defined service conditions. The safety requirements are also described and specifications for installation and operation information are defined in a guidance document. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 351.1 "Fahrzeuge" ("Rolling stock") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
