Overview

Based on the general provisions of IEC 61810-2, this standard specifies reliability test procedures for electromechanical elementary relays where enhanced requirements for the verification of reliability apply. An initial conformity test shall be carried out and then confirmed at least once a year by periodic tests. This standard describes how figures for B10 (the mean number of cycles until 10 % of the relays have failed) are derived from these life tests performed with representative relay samples. The responsible committee is K 671 "Schaltrelais" ("Relays") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
