Overview

The standard specifies lamps, or information relevant to such lamps, not given elsewhere in existing IEC lamp standards. It contains both safety and operation criteria. With Amendment A3, the requirements for photobiological safety for metal halide lamps for film and TV recordings have been supplemented and direct reference to cap data sheet 7004-160 for lamp caps SFc as well on cap data sheet 7004-159 for cap SFa have been incorporated. The committee responsible for this standard is Subcommittee UK 521.1 "Elektrische Lampen" ("Electric lamps") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
