This part of IEC 61347 defines particular safety requirements for electronic control gear used in conjunction with LED modules, where the control gear is designed for operation on DC or AC voltage up to 1 000 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz and at an output frequency that may differ from the supply frequency. Control gear for LED modules according to this standard are designed to supply constant voltage or constant current at SELV or higher voltages. Deviations from the pure voltage and current types do not exclude the control gear from this standard. The annexes of IEC 61347-1 that are applicable according to this Part 2-13 and in which the word "lamp" is used are to be understood as also including LED modules. Particular requirements for SELV operating devices are set out in Annex I. Requirements for the mode of operation are contained in IEC 62384. Plug-in control gear that is part of the luminaire is covered as built-in control gear together with the additional requirements of the luminaire standard. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 521.3 "Geräte für Lampen" ("Auxiliaries for lamps") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 61347-2-13:2015-05; VDE 0712-43:2015-05 .
