This part of the standard series DIN EN 61260 specifies the requirements for the characteristics of band filters as analogue filters, sampled-data filters or digital filters. A device complying with the requirements of this standard may comprise any number of adjacent band filters and thereby cover any frequency range. Requirements are specified for two classes of filters: class 1 and class 2. Generally, filters of classes 1 and 2 are subject to the same set point, they differ, however, primarily in their approval limits which for class 2 are higher than or equal to the ones of class 1. Also specified are maximum permissible expanded measurement uncertainties. A requirement is considered to be met if (a) the measured deviations from set points do not exceed the applicable approval limits and (b) the measurement uncertainty does not exceed the corresponding maximum permissible uncertainty. The requirements are specified for such filter designs where the frequency ratio of an octave and the mid-band frequency are powers of ten. Standard series DIN EN 61260 consists of the following parts: - Part 1: Specifications, - Part 2: Pattern-evaluation tests (currently draft stage), - Part 3: Periodic tests (currently draft stage). This European Standard contains the German version of DIN EN 61260-1:2014. This European Standard is based on International Standard IEC 61260-1:2014 which has been prepared by Technical Committee 29 "Electroacoustics" of the IEC (secretariat: DS, Denmark) with German collaboration. Regarding the German collaboration the Joint Working Committee NA 001-01-03 GA (NALS/DKE) "Schallmessgeräte" ("Sound measuring instruments") is responsible under the chairmanship of the Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering Standards Committee (NALS) at DIN and VDI.
This document replaces DIN EN 61260:2003-03 .
