DIN EN 61243-3:2011-02

This standard is applicable to hand-held two-pole voltage detectors with their accessories (crocodile clips and detachable leads) to be used in contact with parts of electrical systems for a.c. voltages not exceeding 1 000 V at nominal frequencies between 16 2/3 Hz and up to 500 Hz, and/or for d.c. voltage not exceeding 1 500 V. Voltage detectors covered by this standard are intended to be used under dry and humid conditions both indoor and outdoor and up to 2 000 m above sea level. They are not intended to be used under rain or with contact electrode extensions. This standard also includes requirements and tests for the following supplementary functions: phase indications, rotating field indications and continuity checks. The Committee responsible for this standard is Subcommittee UK 214.1 "Ausrüstungen und Geräte zum Arbeiten unter Spannung; Spannungsprüfer bis 1 000 V" ("Equipment and devices for live working; voltage detectors up to and including 1 000 V") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) of DIN and VDE.
