Overview

This standard applies to semi-rigid radio frequency and coaxial communication cables with solid dielectric and semi-airspace dielectric. These cables are usually used in microwaves and wireless equipment or other signal transmission equipment at frequencies above 500 MHz. The standard contains specifications for materials and cable construction, requirements for finished cables, test methods and information for quality assessment. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.3 "Koaxialkabel und -Leitungen" ("Coaxial cables and wires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
