Overview

This standard, which is a generic specification, provides the basis for the sectional standards for radio frequency connectors for radio frequency transmission lines for use in telecommunications, electronics and similar equipment. Besides the terms it specifies the testing and measuring procedures concerning mechanical, climatic, electrical and transmission properties. These test methods are intended for type approval testing. In case of agreement between manufacturer and user they can be used as basis for incoming controls. The responsible body is DKE/UK 412.4 "Passive HF- und Mikrowellenbauelemente" ("Passive RF and microwave devices") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
