Overview

This International Standard applies to change-over selectors (mechanical or electronic) actuated by hand, by foot or by other activity, to operate or control electrical appliances and other equipment for household or similar purposes with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 542.2 "Geräteschalter" ("Switches for appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
