Overview

This part of DIN EN 61010 applies to electrically powered laboratory atomic spectrometers with thermal atomization. Examples include atomic absorption spectrometers, emission flame photometers, atomic fluorescence spectrophotometers, inductively coupled plasma spectrometers, microwave coupled plasma spectrometers and mass spectrometers, all with thermal atomization and ionization, including tubing and connectors which are provided by the manufacturer for connection to external supplies. The responsible committee is DKE/K 913 "Sicherheitsanforderungen an typische Geräte, Einrichtungen und Systeme für Labor und Unterricht" ("Safety requirements for typical apparatus, equipment and systems for laboratory and teaching purposes") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
