This standard contains the German version of the 3rd edition of the European Standard EN 61000-4-30:2015 and is identical with the 3rd edition of the International Standard IEC 61000-4-30. It defines the methods for measurement and interpretation of results for power quality parameters in 50/60 Hz a.c. power supply systems. The measurements are described for each relevant parameter as in-situ-measurements regardless of the compliant instrument being used and its environmental conditions. The parameters considered in this standard are power frequency, the magnitude of the voltage, flicker, voltage dips, swells, interruptions and rapid voltage changes, transient voltages, supply voltage unbalance, harmonics, interharmonics, mains signaling on the supply voltage. Characteristics of the current are also considered. The measurement of the characteristics covered by this standard is limited to those phenomena that can be transmitted on lines in a power supply network. Measurement methods are specified for the characteristics addressed by this standard, whereby the quantity to be measured may either be directly accessible or shall be supplied via an instrument transformer. This standard distinguishes between two classes of requirements for voltage quality measuring instruments (A and S), while class B, which was specified in a previous edition, is only mentioned informatively in a new Annex E and should no longer be implemented in newly developed measuring instruments. Furthermore, the new Annexes C and D were created, which contain information on the measurement of conducted emissions in the frequency range between 2 kHz and 150 kHz and on the measurement of under- and over deviations. Finally, this standard defines the measurement uncertainty. Characteristics of the voltage in European public power systems are described in EN 50160, the German version of which was published as DIN EN 50160. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 767.1 "Niederfrequente leitungsgeführte Störgrößen" ("Low frequency phenomena") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
