Overview

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 61000-4-22:2011 and is identical to the International Standard IEC 61000-4-22:2010. It describes the radiated emission measurements for electric and electronic equipment and immunity tests for this equipment to radio-frequency electromagnetic fields in fully anechoic rooms (FAR). In addition to the measurement and test methods, validation and calibration of the corresponding measurement rooms and the requirements to be met for the latter procedure are described. The standard applies for the frequency range 30 MHz to 18 GHz. A common test set-up is specified for radiated emission measurement and immunity testing. For radiated emission measurement, the height scan of the antenna is omitted. The test methods described in this standard are also based on a harmonized validation/calibration which serves for verification of the suitability of a fully anechoic room as measuring equipment, including the room, antenna and associated cables. While the common specifications are stipulated in the main text of the standard, normative Annexes A and B contain certain specifications for radiated emission measurement or immunity test procedures against the effects of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields and special considerations concerning this matter have been made. The field strength is the measurand and is determined at the measurement distance using the average system transducer factor. The measurand for horizontal and vertical polarization is determined separately. By measurand selection the problem that far-field conditions cannot be established in all cases is avoided. For validation of fully anechoic rooms, four set-ups which can be alternatively used are described (Type 1 to Type 4), specifications for the necessary measurement instrumentation are given, the quantities to be determined and necessary sampling positions are defined and the method is specified. The result is a transducer factor with an associated standard deviation. The transducer factor for the FAR measurement system is later applied to both emission measurements and immunity tests. If different sets of antennas and/or cables are used for emission measurements and immunity tests the validation/calibration process is performed twice. Informative Annex C provides background information on the system transducer factor and simultaneous emissions/immunity validation method. Finally, informative Annex D provides guidance for calculation of the uncertainty of measurement results obtained using a fully anechoic room and instrumentation in accordance with ISO/IEC Guide 98-3. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 767.4 "Geräte und Verfahren zum Messen von elektromagnetischen Aussendungen" ("Equipment and methods for measurement of electromagnetic transmissions") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
