Part -2-6 of the 60730 series modifies the basic Part -1 (fifth edition) for use with automatic electrical pressure sensing controls and pressure values from -60 kPa to 4,2 MPa. In most cases these devices are part of a system, as individual components or integrated into multi-function controls. The application of the series is primarily for domestic use in the broader sense, whereby equipment that is not intended for domestic use but can be used by the public, by laypersons, such as in stores, in light industry and in agriculture, is also considered to be within the scope of this Part -2-6. The standard addresses the electrical and functional safety and reliability for the operating values, operating times and operating sequences specified by the manufacturer, where these are linked to equipment safety, in accordance with the mode of operation of the respective pressure sensing control components (RS), and describes the associated tests. With regard to the edition to be replaced, DIN EN 60730-2-6 (VDE 0631-2-6):2009-04, this is a technical revision adapted to the fifth edition of IEC 60730-1, with significant changes - to functional safety, Clause H.27, and differentiation of classes B and C; - for fault analysis during a safety shutdown. The responsible committee is DKE/K 515 "Regel- und Steuergeräte" ("Controls") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
