Overview

The DIN EN 60702 (VDE 0284) series of standards describes requirements for mineral insulated cables with a rated voltage up to 750 V. The standard DIN EN 60702-3 (VDE 0284-3) informs users about the properties and limiting conditions of mineral insulated cables in order to prevent misuse of the cables. This standard contains instructions for the safe use of these cables and terminations. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 411.2 "Isolierte Starkstromleitungen" ("Insulated cables, wires and flexible cords for power installation") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
