The standard contains the maximum lamp outlines for incandescent lamps (including tungsten-halogen lamps) and is designed as a loose-leaf collection. Observance of the specifications in the data sheets during luminaire design ensures mechanical acceptability of lamps complying with the standard in which such lamps are included. Temperature requirements, which are listed separately in the corresponding lamp specification, are not taken into account. With the new Amendment A7, a statement on technologies with "better tolerances than incandescent lamps" has been added to the General Section. In data sheets 60630-IEC-1010-6 and 60630-IEC-1020-6, the information on dimensions E and N has been removed. The committee responsible is DKE/UK 521.1 "Elektrische Lampen" ("Electrical lamps") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60630:2010-05 .
