DIN EN 60601-2-54:2016-07

This International Standard applies to the basic safety and essential performance of medical electrical equipment and medical electrical systems intended to be used for projection radiography and radioscopy. X-ray equipment intended to be used for bone or tissue absorption densitometry, computed tomography, mammography or dental applications are excluded from the scope of this standard. The scope of this standard also excludes radiotherapy simulators. Safety specifications for X-ray equipment intended for interventional applications are contained in the standard DIN EN 60601-2-43. The latter refers to DIN EN 60601-2-54 insofar as it concerns requirements that apply to interventional applications. Joint Working Committee NA 080-00-16 GA "Bildgebende Systeme" ("Imaging systems") of DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE (www.dke.de) and DIN Standards Committee Radiology (NAR) in collaboration with Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft (German Radiological Society) is responsible for this standard.
