Overview

This standard applies to the basic safety and essential performance of surgical luminaires and luminaires for diagnosis, which illuminate locally the body of the patient in the patient environment to support the treatment and diagnosis. This standard amends and supplements DIN EN 60601-1 (VDE 0750-1):2007-07. At DIN and VDE the responsible Subcommittee is UK 812.8 "Medizinische Versorgungseinheiten" ("Medical gas supply systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies).
