The DIN EN 6059 series of standards describes test procedures for protective hoses for installation with electrical cables in aircraft. The DIN EN 6059 series of standards specifies a method of assessing the behaviour and temperature increase of EMI protection sleeves or conduits when subject to permanent and/or fault currents in the shielding of the conduit or sleeve material and their effect on the cables within the cable sleeve. It shall be used together with EN 3475-100. The standard differs from DIN EN 6059-503:2012-03 as follows: a) the scope has been extended to include the effects on the cable; b) Clause 3 on the preparation of the test specimens has been revised and extended, the cases of test specimens with and without plug connectors at the end have been considered for the power connection and represented with images; c) Clause 4 on the procedure has been revised and specified, the previous Table 1 has been omitted, and Figure 3 has been included to illustrate the power supply; d) in Clause 5, a reference to Figure 3 in Clause 4 and a note have been included. The EN 6059 series of standards has been prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-08 AA "Installationskomponenten" ("Installation components") at the DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
