Overview

This part of IEC 60539 applies to directly heated surface mounted negative temperature coefficient thermistors which are usually manufactured from transition metal oxide materials with semi-conductive properties. These thermistors have metallized terminal faces or solder strips and are intended for direct mounting on substrates of hybrid integrated circuits or printed-circuit boards. The responsible Committee is K 614 "Temperatur- und spannungsabhängige Widerstände" ("Temperature- and voltage-dependent resistors") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
