Overview

This International Standard forms the basis for estimating the ageing of electrical insulation systems (EIS) under conditions of either electrical, thermal or mechanical stress, environmental stresses or combinations thereof (multi-factor stresses). Compared to the previous edition, a new Annex A "Glossary" has been added to this standard as a significant change. The responsible committee is DKE/K 183 "Bewertung und Qualifizierung von elektronischen Isolierstoffen und Isoliersystemen" ("Evaluation and qualification of electrical insulating materials and systems ") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
