DIN EN 6049-008:2013-03

The DIN EN 6049 standard series describes protection sleeves in meta-aramid fibres for installation with electrical cables and cable bundles in aircraft. Part 008 specifies the characteristics of post installation flexible self-wrapping EMI shielding protection sleeves for electrical cable and cable bundles made from meta-aramid fibres for the external sleeve, and nickel copper plated braid as the internal layer and provided with a water repellent protection for aerospace application at operational temperatures from -55 °C to 200 °C. The standards of the EN 6049 standard series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-08 AA "Installationskomponenten" ("Installation components") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
