This International Standard specifies the performance requirements for single-capped and double-capped tungsten halogen lamps, having rated voltages of up to 250 V, used for the following applications: - Projection (including cinematograph and still projection); - Photographic (including studio); - Floodlighting; - Special purpose; - General purpose; - Stage lighting. For some of the requirements given in this standard reference is made to "the relevant data sheet". For some lamps these data sheets are contained in this standard. For other lamps, falling under the scope of this standard, the relevant data are supplied by the lamp manufacturer or responsible vendor. The requirements of this standard relate only to type testing. The present edition of EN 60357 is supplemented by the European supplements that have become necessary in the meantime due to the following European regulations: Regulation (EC) No. 244/2009 of 18 March 2009 implementing Directive 2009/125/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for non-directional household lamps, Regulation (EC) No. 1194/2012 of 12 December 2012 implementing Directive 2009/125/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for light bulbs with bundled light, Regulation (EC) No. 874/2012 of 12 July 2012 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to energy labelling of electric lamps and luminaires. The supplements mainly concern the following points: a) The lamps of the standard sheets 60357-IEC-3211-3, -3230-2, -6115-1, -6720-1, -6722-1, -6725-1 and 2, -6726, -6727 and -6820-1 are not applicable in Europe. These standard sheets are therefore deleted. b) Some wattages of the lamps of the standard sheets 60357-IEC-3005-3, -3105-2, -3210-3, -4105-4 and 4105-5 are not applicable in Europe. These standards sheets are modified accordingly. c) An "overriding finding" to the following effect is inserted: "If a Commission Regulation specifies limit values for parameters, these limit values shall be used instead of the limit values specified in this standard." d) Terms and definitions that go back to the European Regulations are supplemented. e) The designations of the lamp types of Table 6 of Regulation 1194/2012 are compared to the designations of the lamp data sheets. f) Individual information on measurement and limit values that goes back to the relevant European Regulations is supplemented. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 521.1 "Elektrische Lampen" ("Electric lamps") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
