This standard includes the text of the international publication IEC 60335-2-67:2012 which has been taken over by CENELEC as European Standard with agreed common modifications. The standard has been fundamentally revised and updated in relation to the state of the art. In particular, modifications have been made in Clauses 15, 22 and 25. The Annexes BB (liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) requirements), CC 'Emission of acoustical noise' and DD 'Emission of vibration' have been added. This International Standard deals with the safety of powered floor treatment and floor cleaning machines intended for commercial indoor or outdoor use for the following applications: - scrubbing, - wet or dry pick-up, - polishing and dry buffing, - application of wax, sealing products and powder based detergents, - shampooing, - stripping, grinding and scarifying of floors with an artificial surface. The machines are not equipped with a traction drive. The following power systems are covered: - internal combustion engines, - mains powered motors up to a rated voltage of 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances, - battery-powered motors. The afore-mentioned floor treatment machines are used beyond normal housekeeping purposes such as hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, supermarkets and offices. The responsible body is DKE/UK 511.14 "Gewerbliche Bodenreinigungsmaschinen" ("Floor cleaning machines for commercial use") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
