Overview

This standard deals with the safety of electric insect killers for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. Through Amendment 2, the standard has been adjusted to the changed scope of IEC 60335-1, edition 4.2. Furthermore, a warning for appliances containing lamps has been added, that if the lamps cease to operate, the appliance shall be scrapped. The responsible Committee is K 511 "Sicherheit elektrischer Hausgeräte" ("Safety of household appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
