Overview

This standard contains the text of the international publication IEC 60335-2-5:2012 which has been adopted by CENELEC as a European Standard without modification. The standard has been fundamentally revised and updated to reflect the state of the art. Amongst other things, requirements have been added to 22.104 to address switch conditions. Notes have been converted to normative text or deleted. International Standard IEC 60335-2-5 deals with the safety of electric dishwashers for household use and similar purposes which are intended for washing and rinsing dishes, cutlery and other equipment. Their rated voltage does not exceed 250 V for single-phase devices and 480 V for other devices. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 511.1 "Wäschepflegegeräte und Geschirrspüler" ("Laundry machines and dishwashers") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
