Overview

This standard deals with the safety of electric food waste disposers for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. Additional requirements for the interlocked cover are introduced when this interlock relies on an electronic circuit. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 511.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
