This standard deals with the safety of electric deep fat fryers having a recommended maximum quantity of oil not exceeding 5 l, frying pans, woks and other appliances in which oil is used for cooking, and intended for household use only, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. The requirements for persons requiring protection are adapted to edition EN 60335-1:2012, amongst others. It is described, for example, under which conditions certain age groups of children may use or not use the appliances. The increase of the surface temperatures has also been redefined in 11.8. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 511.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
