This standard deals with the safety of electrical appliances and machines for household environment and commercial purpose, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and machines and 480 V for other appliances and machines. The old part of EN 60335-1:2002 and its modifications had to be withdrawn by 2014/11/21. A large number of Parts 2 are not yet adapted to a newer version of EN 60335-1:2012. In order to avoid uncertainties, CENELEC published Amendment A11 which explains the facts more precisely. Furthermore, this Corrigendum contains a detailed explanation which Part 2 can be combined with which Part 1. The responsible committee is DKE/K 511 "Sicherheit elektrischer Hausgeräte" ("Safety of household appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
